On August 21st, Head of School Ms. Angelene Huang visited Korea to participate in Springfield’s Annual Asian Summer Student Conference, held this year at Paradise City in Incheon. The conference brought together Springfield students spending their summers in Asia, along with faculty, alumni, and partner educators and the board of trustees in the region.

Ms. Huang opened the event by welcoming students and families, and speaking on the importance of maintaining academic curiosity even outside the school year.

“Summer is not a pause,” she shared. “For Springfield students, it’s another space for learning—with new people, new places, and new perspectives.”

Throughout the day, students engaged in a series of small-group discussions, collaborative activities, and guided reflections focused on leadership, goal-setting, and the upcoming school year. Upper school leaders shared advice on building healthy routines, balancing academic drive with personal well-being, and preparing intentionally for college admissions.

The conference concluded with a Q&A session, where Ms. Huang met individually with students and parents, answered questions about new academic initiatives on campus, and offered guidance on how students can make the most of the year ahead.

Springfield’s Asia Summer Leadership Conference is one of the school’s annual touchpoints designed to keep our global student community connected—no matter where summer takes them.
